A NEW WAY OF RUNNING

//

//

//

Social. Entertaining. High-Intensity.

Pace Race is a high-intensity, mass-participation running event. It’s highly entertaining, highly tactical, and highly social. We celebrate running. In a way you have never run before - globally.

At Pace Race, each participant runs as many consecutive 1-Kilometer laps as they can. Each lap has to be completed within a cut-off time limit. The cut-off time gets shorter for each lap and there is a 60 second recovery break between laps.

How it works

For Lap #1, the cut-off is at a very comfortable 8:00 minutes - a brisk walking or slow jogging pace. The cut-off time drops to 7:00 / 6:30 / 6:15 / 6:00, and then in 10 second-intervals starting at Lap #6 for each consecutive lap. So Lap #5 has to be completed in 6:00 minutes and at Lap #17 the cut-off time is already down to 4:00 minutes - a turning point even for many ambitious runners. (This is a 6:30-mile and a 10K finish time of 40:00 minutes.)

Once a participant does not finish a lap within the cut-off time limit, they get access to join other runners, who have reached their limit, in the “finisher cheering zone” right next to the finish line. There, they support the remaining runners to reach their personal record by cheering every round and get inspiration for which Pace Race Level they want to aim for next time. Everyone feels this energy and will probably get two or three kilometers more out of themselves than they think is possible.

At Pace Race, anyone who finishes the first lap wins. Whether you reach Pace Race Level 1, Level 5 or Level 25 - everyone knows, you gave it your all and you can be proud of the Pace Race badge you’ve earned. But we also know, you will be back to level up next time.
